16:6
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Meaning

The phrase "For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets" refers to the individuals who have caused harm to those who are righteous and speak the truth. These individuals have disregarded the importance of righteousness and truth, leading to the shedding of innocent blood. The second part of the verse, "and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy", suggests that those who have committed such heinous acts will face the consequences of their actions. They will be punished in a way that reflects the severity of their crimes. This verse serves as a warning that those who harm the righteous will eventually face justice, as their actions will not go unpunished. It emphasizes the principle of reaping what one sows and the belief that ultimately, justice will prevail.
