Book of Psalms - Chapter 68 - Verse 22

68:22
The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea:

Meaning

When the Lord speaks of bringing His people back from Bashan and from the depths of the sea, He is expressing His promise to gather and redeem His scattered and oppressed people from all corners of the earth. Bashan was a region known for its fertility and abundance, symbolizing a place of richness and prosperity. On the other hand, the depths of the sea represent a place of chaos, danger, and darkness. By mentioning these two extremes, the Lord is emphasizing that no matter where His people may be - whether in places of comfort or distress - He will bring them back to Himself. This verse offers hope and assurance to those who may feel lost or abandoned, reminding them that God's love and power are not limited by distance or circumstance. It serves as a declaration of God's faithfulness and unwavering commitment to His chosen people, promising to gather them back to Himself despite the obstacles they may face.
