Meaning

When Jesus took the man aside from the multitude and touched his ears and tongue, he was demonstrating his compassion and power to heal. By using physical touch and saliva, Jesus was showing that healing can come in unexpected ways and through unconventional means. The act of touching the man's ears and tongue was a way for Jesus to connect with him on a personal level and show him that he was cared for and valued. Through this intimate gesture, Jesus was not only physically healing the man but also showing him that he was loved and worthy of attention. This verse highlights the miraculous nature of Jesus' healing abilities and serves as a reminder that healing can come in various forms. It is a powerful example of Jesus' compassion for those in need and his willingness to go to great lengths to bring restoration and wholeness to those who seek his help.
