Book of Luke - Chapter 2 - Verse 38

2:38
And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Meaning

When Mary brought baby Jesus to the temple, she encountered Simeon, a devout man who had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah. Upon seeing Jesus, Simeon recognized him as the promised savior and praised God, declaring that he could now depart in peace. At that moment, Anna, a prophetess, approached and also gave thanks to the Lord for the arrival of the Redeemer. She then spoke to all those who were awaiting redemption in Jerusalem, sharing the good news of Jesus' birth. This verse illustrates the importance of spreading the message of salvation and redemption to others. Anna's response to encountering Jesus reflects the joy and gratitude that all believers should feel when they recognize the presence of the Lord in their lives. By sharing her experience with others, Anna played a role in preparing the way for Jesus' ministry and spreading the hope of salvation to those who were waiting for him.
