Meaning

This verse from Leviticus 22:10 emphasizes the importance of purity and sanctity when it comes to the holy things of the priest. In ancient times, the holy things referred to offerings and sacrifices made to the Lord in the tabernacle or temple. It was essential that only those who were consecrated or dedicated to God could partake in these holy things. This verse specifically states that no stranger, meaning someone outside of the priestly lineage, could eat of the holy things. Even a sojourner or hired servant, who were not of the priestly family, were not permitted to partake in these offerings.
