Book of Joshua - Chapter 24 - Verse 5

24:5
I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: and afterward I brought you out.

Meaning

In this verse, God is reminding the Israelites of the great works He performed for them in order to bring them out of Egypt. God sent Moses and Aaron to the land of Egypt, and through them, He plagued the Egyptians with ten devastating plagues. These plagues were displays of God's power and judgment upon the Egyptians for their refusal to release the Israelites from slavery. The plagues included things like turning the water into blood, sending swarms of frogs and locusts, and even causing darkness to cover the land. Despite the stubbornness of the Pharaoh, God was able to bring about the deliverance of His people from Egypt, displaying His ultimate authority over all creation. This verse serves as a reminder to the Israelites of God's faithfulness and power in fulfilling His promises to His people.
