Book of John - Chapter 8 - Verse 19

8:19
Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.

Meaning

When the people asked Jesus where his father was, he responded by telling them that they didn't know him or his father. He was trying to convey to them that knowing him was equivalent to knowing his father, God. Jesus wanted them to understand that to truly know and understand him was to know and understand God. This verse highlights the deep connection between Jesus and God, emphasizing that they are one and the same. By rejecting Jesus, the people were also rejecting God. This serves as a reminder that to know God is to know Jesus, and to know Jesus is to know God. It challenges believers to deepen their understanding of who Jesus is and the relationship he has with God. By knowing Jesus, we come to know God in a more profound and intimate way.
