Book of John - Chapter 10 - Verse 2

10:2
But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Meaning

In this verse, Jesus uses the imagery of a shepherd and his sheep to convey a deeper spiritual truth. The shepherd here represents Jesus himself, who is the way to salvation and eternal life. By entering through the door, which symbolizes Jesus, one becomes a true follower of Christ and will be guided and cared for by him. The sheep, on the other hand, represent believers who willingly follow Jesus and trust in him for their protection and provision. This verse emphasizes the importance of entering into a relationship with Jesus through faith and obedience. Just as a shepherd leads and protects his flock, Jesus promises to lead, protect, and provide for those who come to him in the right way. By following Jesus as the shepherd of our lives, we can experience his love, guidance, and care in all aspects of our lives.
