Book of Jeremiah - Chapter 14 - Verse 14

14:14
Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Meaning

The Lord is drawing attention to the fact that these prophets are deceiving the people out of the wickedness of their own hearts. This serves as a cautionary message to the people to be discerning and not be swayed by false teachings. It also underscores the importance of testing the spirits and ensuring that any prophecy or teaching aligns with the Word of God. By exposing the deceptive nature of these false prophets, the Lord is urging His people to seek Him and His truth above all else.
