7:13
And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Isaiah, the prophet is addressing the house of David, the royal lineage of Israel. The message is a warning against causing weariness or distress to both men and God. The use of the term "O house of David" is a direct reference to the ruling family of Judah, and the implication is that they have been burdening or troubling people without considering the consequences of their actions. By posing the question, "Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?", the prophet is challenging the royal family to reflect on their behavior and its impact on both human beings and the divine. The verse serves as a reminder that actions have consequences and that even the mightiest rulers are accountable to God. It also emphasizes the importance of treating others with respect and consideration, recognizing that one's actions not only affect those around them but also have a spiritual dimension.
