Book of Ezekiel - Chapter 24 - Verse 13

24:13
In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

Meaning

This verse highlights the concept of purging as a form of cleansing and purification. In this context, the filthiness referred to is the impurity and sin that the individual carries within them. The act of being purged is seen as a means of removing this filthiness and restoring purity. However, in this particular verse, it is emphasized that despite being purged by God, the individual failed to truly cleanse themselves. As a result, they are warned that they will not be able to rid themselves of their filthiness until God's fury has been fully unleashed upon them. This serves as a reminder of the consequences of not truly repenting and seeking genuine purification. The verse conveys a sense of divine justice and the importance of sincere repentance in order to be truly purified from sin.
