5:2
And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.

Meaning

In this verse, Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, is expressing his defiance against the God of Israel. He questions the authority and power of the LORD, the God of the Israelites, by asking, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice?" By declaring, "I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go," Pharaoh is not only refusing to recognize God's sovereignty but also refusing to release the Israelites from slavery. This verse captures the pride and stubbornness of Pharaoh, which ultimately leads to the series of plagues and the eventual deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt's bondage. It serves as a reminder of the consequences of defying the commands of the LORD and the importance of acknowledging and obeying His authority.
