Book of Exodus - Chapter 4 - Verse 10

4:10
And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Meaning

When Moses said to the LORD that he was not eloquent and had difficulty speaking, he was expressing his insecurities and doubts about his ability to effectively communicate the messages he was meant to deliver as the leader of the Israelites. Despite having been chosen by God to lead His people out of Egypt, Moses felt inadequate and unsure of his own abilities. By acknowledging his shortcomings, Moses demonstrated humility and a willingness to trust in God to guide and empower him in his role. This verse serves as a reminder that God can use imperfect and flawed individuals to fulfill His plans, as long as they are willing to surrender their weaknesses and rely on His strength. It also highlights the importance of humility and honesty in approaching challenges and seeking help from God when faced with difficulties.
