26:31
And thou shalt make a veil of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

Meaning

In this verse from the book of Exodus, God instructs Moses on how to create a veil to separate the holy place from the most holy place in the tabernacle. The colors of blue, purple, and scarlet, as well as the fine twined linen, were carefully chosen for their significance. Blue symbolizes heavenly grace, purple signifies royalty and kingship, and scarlet represents sacrifice and redemption. The fine twined linen represents purity and righteousness. The veil was to be adorned with cherubim, which are angelic beings who guard the presence of God. These intricate details and skilled craftsmanship required to make the veil emphasize the importance of approaching God with reverence and awe. The veil served as a physical barrier between God's holiness and the people, highlighting the separation between God and humanity due to sin. It also foreshadowed the ultimate atonement that would later be fulfilled through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. By understanding the symbolism and significance of each element in the veil, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the holiness of God and His plan for redemption.
