Book of Deuteronomy - Chapter 6 - Verse 22

6:22
And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

Meaning

This verse from the Book of Deuteronomy describes the powerful display of signs and wonders by the LORD in Egypt during the time of Moses. The signs and wonders referenced are the plagues that were inflicted upon the land of Egypt as a demonstration of God's power and a means to secure the release of the Israelites from slavery. These miracles included turning the Nile River into blood, swarms of frogs, lice, flies, livestock diseases, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the death of the firstborn. Each of these miracles was a direct challenge to the false gods of Egypt and a testament to the LORD's supremacy. The verse also highlights the hardening of Pharaoh's heart in response to these signs, leading to further suffering for the Egyptians. This verse serves as a reminder of the LORD's ability to work miraculous signs and wonders in order to fulfill his purposes and demonstrate his power to all who witness.
