Book of Deuteronomy - Chapter 1 - Verse 29

1:29
Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.

Meaning

When God spoke these words to the Israelites through Moses, he was reassuring them not to fear the nations they were about to face as they entered the promised land. The context of this verse is when God was reminding the Israelites of the miraculous ways he had already intervened on their behalf, such as delivering them from Egypt and providing for them in the wilderness. By saying "Dread not, neither be afraid of them," God was emphasizing that their victory in battle would not come from their own strength, but from his power and faithfulness. This verse serves as a reminder to trust in God's promises and to rely on his protection, even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Today, this verse can encourage us to have faith in God's ability to overcome any challenges we may face, knowing that he is always with us and will never leave us nor forsake us.
