Book of 2 Samuel - Chapter 24 - Verse 5

24:5
And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer:

Meaning

When the Israelites passed over the Jordan River and pitched in Aroer on the right side of the city, they were moving through the land that had been promised to them by God. Aroer was a town located in the territory of Gad, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. The fact that they camped on the right side of the city signifies a strategic military position, as the right side was considered the stronger side in battle. This movement shows the Israelites obeying God's commands to possess the land that He had promised to them, as they journeyed towards Jazer, another city in the region. This passage symbolizes the Israelites' journey towards fulfilling God's covenant with them, as they followed His guidance and claimed the land that He had promised to give them.
