Meaning

In this verse from the book of 2 Chronicles, the wrath of the LORD is described as being directed towards Judah and Jerusalem. The reason for this wrath is the disobedience and unfaithfulness of the people of Judah and Jerusalem towards God. As a result of their actions, God allowed them to face trouble, astonishment, and hissing from those around them. This serves as a warning to the people of Judah and Jerusalem, as well as to readers today, about the consequences of turning away from God and failing to follow His commandments. The troubles that befell Judah and Jerusalem were meant to serve as a wake-up call and a reminder of the importance of staying faithful to God. By observing the impact of God's wrath on these cities, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own lives and ensure that they are walking in obedience to God's will.
