Book of 1 Corinthians - Chapter 2 - Verse 15

2:15
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

Meaning

In this verse, the concept of spiritual discernment is emphasized. The verse is discussing the idea that those who are spiritually mature have the ability to judge or discern all things. This means that individuals who are connected to God and His wisdom are able to see things clearly and make sound judgments. However, the verse also points out that those who are spiritual cannot be judged by others. This does not mean that they are above criticism or accountability, but rather that their ultimate judgment comes from God alone. The verse serves as a reminder that true spiritual discernment comes from a deep connection with God, and that it is His judgment that ultimately matters. It encourages believers to seek wisdom and guidance from God in order to make wise decisions and judgments in their lives.

Theological Overview

The theological interpretation of this verse from Corinthians emphasizes the idea that those who are spiritual and connected to God have a special insight and discernment that allows them to judge all things correctly. This does not mean they are passing judgment in a negative or condemning way, but rather they have the ability to understand and make wise decisions based on inner wisdom and divine guidance. The verse also highlights the spiritual truth that those who are truly spiritual are not subject to human judgment or criticism because their actions and motives are guided by a higher power. This verse encourages believers to cultivate a deep connection with God to gain the spiritual insight needed to discern right from wrong and make decisions that align with God's will.
