Book of 1 Corinthians - Chapter 15 - Verse 15

15:15
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

Meaning

In this verse, the apostle Paul is addressing the Corinthians, who were questioning the reality of the resurrection of the dead. Paul emphasizes the importance of believing in the resurrection by pointing out that if there is no resurrection, then Christ himself was not raised from the dead. He warns that if Christ has not been raised, then the message preached by him and the apostles is false, making them false witnesses of God. Paul's argument is that the foundation of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Christ, and without it, their faith is in vain. By highlighting the significance of Christ's resurrection, Paul emphasizes the foundational belief of Christianity and underscores the importance of the doctrine of the resurrection of the dead for believers. This verse serves as a reminder to the Corinthians, and believers today, of the central role the resurrection plays in the Christian faith.
