Book of 1 Chronicles - Chapter 17 - Verse 16

17:16
And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

Meaning

David, the king of Israel, expressed his humility and gratitude before the Lord by acknowledging his own insignificance in the grand scheme of things. He was overwhelmed by the fact that God had chosen him to be king and had brought him to such a position of power and influence. David's question "Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?" reflects his awe at the divine favor and grace that had been bestowed upon him. Despite his royal status, David understood that he was merely a servant of the Lord and that everything he had achieved was due to God's guidance and blessings. This verse serves as a reminder to all believers to recognize God's sovereignty in their lives, to remain humble in their accomplishments, and to continually seek His guidance and wisdom in all things.
